What is Wawsome?

Wawsome is a web accessibility platform. It brings together an accessibility widget for your visitors, a checker and a monitor that find WCAG issues, AI that fixes common problems like missing alt text, and expert audits done by people. You manage it all from one dashboard.

Automated tools catch many issues, but not all of them. So Wawsome pairs automation with manual testing when you need the full picture.

Four ways to work on accessibility

Accessibility Widget

Every visitor can adjust your site to their needs: text, colors, contrast, navigation and more. AI fills in missing image descriptions and labels.

Explore the Accessibility Widget

Accessibility Checker

Scan any page for free. You get a score, a list of WCAG issues by severity and a suggested fix for each one.

Try the Accessibility Checker

Accessibility Monitor

Your site is scanned on a schedule. You see your score over time and what changed after each update.

Explore the Accessibility Monitor

Expert audits

Accessibility specialists test your website, app or documents by hand, with screen readers and keyboards. You get a report with clear priorities.

How Wawsome works

  1. Scan

See where your site stands against WCAG 2.2.

  2. Fix

The widget and AI fix common issues on the front end. Your team gets clear steps for the rest.

  3. Monitor

Scheduled scans check new and changed pages, so new issues don't slip through.

  4. Report

Share reports with your team and publish an accessibility statement.

An accessibility widget that adapts to each visitor

Visitors open the widget and change how your site looks and works for them. The changes happen in their browser only. Your code stays the same, and one click resets everything.

Profiles for different needs

One click applies a set of adjustments made for a specific need. There are profiles for blind and visually impaired visitors, motor impairments, ADHD, dyslexia and different types of color blindness.

Profiles that learn

AI intelligent profiles improve over time. When many visitors change a profile in the same way, Wawsome updates that profile for everyone.

Text, color and navigation, the way each visitor needs them

Visitors can enlarge text and content, switch to a dyslexia-friendly or easier font, and change line height and letter spacing. They can raise the contrast, change saturation, go monochrome or choose their own text, title and page colors. They can also highlight links and titles, mute sounds, hide images, stop animations, use a bigger cursor, or follow a reading guide or mask.

AI alt text and labels, with you in control

After the first scan, AI writes descriptions for images that have no alt text. It also adds labels to buttons and form fields that are missing them. You decide what stays. Review every label in the dashboard, write your own or go back to the original. Admins can also edit labels right inside the widget.

Read aloud

A built-in reader reads your content aloud at the speed each visitor picks. Wawsome detects your site's language on its own, so the reading voice matches your page.

Full keyboard navigation

Visitors can move through your whole site with the keyboard and use shortcuts to jump to the main parts of a page.

Fits your brand

Choose the button, position, size, shape, color and default language. The widget looks right on desktop and mobile.

Find accessibility issues and fix them faster

A score and a clear list of issues

The checker scans your pages against WCAG and gives you an accessibility score. Each issue shows how serious it is, which elements it affects and how to fix it.

See each issue on the page

Screenshots show exactly where each issue appears. Your developers don't have to hunt for it.

Fix it once in the template

Many issues come from one shared part of your site, like a header or a product card. Wawsome groups those issues, so your team can fix them once in the template instead of page by page.

Monitoring that keeps up with your site

The monitor scans your site on a schedule, and you can run a scan any time. It checks new and changed content, keeps a history of every scan and shows how your score moves.

Up to date with WCAG 2.2

Scans follow WCAG 2.2 and are updated when the standards change.

Track every fix

Follow each issue from found to fixed. Log manual fixes in the dashboard so your progress is always up to date.

Reports and an accessibility statement you can share

Reports your team can act on

Every month you get a report with your score, issues by severity and WCAG level, and step-by-step guidance. Export it as PDF or CSV and share it with developers, managers or clients.

A detailed PDF remediation report

A PDF report records what was found and what was fixed, so you have it on file.

Your accessibility statement, ready to publish

Wawsome creates an accessibility statement based on the EU model, with your contact details already in it. Publish it in several languages and host it at your own URL.

Expert accessibility audits

Some things only a person can judge. Our accessibility specialists test your digital products by hand with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, keyboards and braille displays.

Websites and web apps

Full manual testing against WCAG 2.2 AA, page by page and component by component.

Real user journeys

We test the paths that matter most, like sign-up, checkout and forms, the way people with disabilities use them.

Mobile apps

Manual audits of your iOS and Android apps with screen readers and other assistive technology.

Documents and PDFs

We check PDFs and other documents your visitors download, so they can read them too.

A report you can work from

Every audit ends with a report that ranks issues by impact and explains how to fix them.

What automated tools can't do

No tool can guarantee that a website is 100% accessible. Automated scans find many common issues, like missing alt text or low contrast. Others need a person to judge. Does the alt text actually make sense? Does the checkout work with a screen reader? Are the instructions clear?

That's why Wawsome combines automation with expert testing. Use the tools every day, and bring in an audit when you need the full picture.

Frequently asked questions

What is Wawsome?

Wawsome is a web accessibility platform. It includes an accessibility widget, a checker, a monitor, AI fixes for common issues, reports, an accessibility statement and expert audits. You manage everything from one dashboard.

What's the difference between the widget, the checker and the monitor?

The checker scans a page and shows its issues at that moment. The monitor scans your site on a schedule and tracks changes over time. The widget works on your live site: it lets visitors adjust the page and uses AI to fix common issues like missing alt text.

Does the widget make my website compliant on its own?

No. The widget improves the experience for many visitors and fixes common front-end issues. But some issues can only be fixed in your code or content, and some need a person to test them. Wawsome shows you those issues and how to fix them, and our experts can audit your site by hand.

How does AI alt text work? Can I change it?

After the first scan, AI writes descriptions for images that have no alt text and labels for elements that are missing them. You can review every label, write your own or go back to the original, in the dashboard or right inside the widget.

Which languages does Wawsome support?

The widget, alt text and read-aloud voice work in 55+ languages. Wawsome detects your site's language automatically, and you can set a default language.

Which platforms does Wawsome work with?

Any website. You add one line of code, or install it through Google Tag Manager. It works with any CMS or framework, including WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, Joomla, headless CMSs and single-page apps.

Will Wawsome slow down my website?

The script is under 150 KB and loads in the background, so it doesn't block your page from loading.

Does Wawsome collect personal data or use cookies?

The widget doesn't collect personally identifiable information and doesn't store cookies. Wawsome is ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified.

Can agencies manage client websites with Wawsome?

Yes. You can manage several sites and client accounts from one login, add your team and white label the widget and reports with your own brand.

Do you offer manual accessibility audits?

Yes. Our specialists test websites, user journeys, mobile apps and documents by hand with screen readers, keyboards and braille displays. Every audit ends with a report that ranks issues by impact and explains how to fix them.

Can Wawsome create an accessibility statement?

Yes. Wawsome generates a statement based on the EU model, with your contact details. You can publish it in several languages and host it at your own URL.
